Stationery is another wedding detail any bride-to-be ought not to miss. Keeping with the "vintage, rustic" theme Francis and I are rambling on, I just had a momentary "light-bulb-thinking" moment to have our invitations DIY. And when I say DIY, I mean it.
The twigs just get me and the paper. Oh, the paper!
Crafting the invitation seems to be pretty risky; yet, it is personal and warm. Rather than giving them printed copies of names they'll probably not remember for long, why not give them a funky and quirky invitation.
Our expected guests are about 100 people. We are not aiming for any wedding of the year. Rather, we want it to be intimate and warm not only because we're incapable of splurging, but also since we would like to invite people who've been our cushion for the most part of our lives. Thus, we want to give memorable pieces including the invites.
It's no longer a wonder why it felt like I've struck gold with finding an online helpguide in making crafted cards. Here's the guide:
Large Card Step 1: Fold Card Stock
Fold each 7-inch x 10-inch piece of card stock in half crosswise to make three 7-inch x 5-inch cards.
Large Card Step 2: Glue Card Stock on Top
Glue a 4-inch x 6-inch piece bronze or dark green card stock piece to the center front of each card.
Large Card Step 3: Tear Edges
Tear away the edges of each 4-inch x 6-inch piece of light green card stock to make each piece about 3 inches x 5 inches.
Large Card Step 4: Stamp with Embossing Ink
Stamp each 3-inch x 5-inch piece with embossing ink. Immediately sprinkle stamped area with bronze embossing powder. Shake off excess powder and heat with heat gun until embossing powder melts.
Large Card Step 5: Glue on Design
Glue embossed design right side up to center front of each card.
Large Card Step 6: Thread Raffia
Use hole punch to make two holes through card. Thread raffia through holes in card and tie end in a small bow or an overhand knot.
