Looking for available tutorials on-line for me to start on my DIY projects is quite difficult due to the vast array of available craft tools and styles. Keeping this in mind, I came up with a good solution--and that is to have a featured craft each day.
I am no rocket scientist when it comes to DIY projects and my fingers are quite rickety that they don't serve as the best friends one can have for life--but, hey, that doesn't exclude me from trying things out and possibly succeeding in them, right? *evil grin*
The first on my list is learning how to create fabric flowers. Thanks to blairpeter of typepad, I have in my possession a step-by-step metrics on crafting these beautifully elusive flora.
As per his/her blog, we will be needing the templates upload therein. Yep, nothing a good old reliable printer cannot do, right? Just print these goodies first and ready the other materials:
* fabric
* scissors
* felt in various shades
* needle and thread
* pin back
* button(s)
* fabric glue (as per the tutorial, this one is quite optional)

First, we'll have to cut the templates off from the fabric of our choice. Any color or preference is okay.
Then, we stack the bigger flowers (2) on top of each other and fold each of the smaller flowers in half atop the bigger ones--overlapping them (see the next picture).
After successfully finishing off the stacks of flowers, sew the fabric petals together with little stitches in the middle. Make sure that the stitches go through each and every available petal to hold them all together.
No using of scissors for this until you have covered the button with your chosen fabric. Once done with the button, sew the button to the middle of the flora (see picture below).

Next, cut a piece of rounded fabric and sew the pin (you'll be using to attach the fabric flower to your bags, clothes, etc.) onto it. Be careful with the size to keep it in line with the tutorial provided by blairpeter of typepad. Below is the guide:
This seems pretty easy and I may want to get it a "go" after all the reservations are settled.
